South Arkansas Regional Health Center
PHILOSOPHY AND TRAINING OBJECTIVES
The doctoral internship program at SARHC is an organized education and doctoral training program with a planned sequence of supervised experience. Utilizing a practitioner scholar training model, our goal is to train and develop well-rounded clinicians to provide empirically supported diagnostic and therapeutic services to clients at various levels of care. The program is intended to meet the broad and specialized needs of the intern that are congruent with the interns interests, level of training, and intended area of practice. Over the course of the training year, interns can expect to develop clinical skill and competence through self-awareness, consultation, supervision, and outreach. Specialty and clinical skills are further advanced through professional, ethical, and legal precision. Training, supervision, and experience in diverse clinical settings becomes the means by which interns expand and further develop their ability to practice ethical, professional, and culturally sensitive treatment.
